The theological reductionism that the God of the Old Testament is nothing but a totalitarian specter of tyranny that may be easily paralleled with the totalitarianisms we know from human history, it is so dishonest. Surely it is to rip out the heart from the chest of whatever indeed makes theology theology, and it is a futile and unsophisticated proposition. To say that the human abstract construct, the concept of God, is nothing but a system of political despotism because God has been used cynically and corruptively for tyrannical means throughout the histories, is like to say that numbers and digits are nothing but a mechanism of deceit since many have used them to manipulate, cheat and deceive their fellow man.
