another romantic hero rant

The hero must be creative with morality, and finding more meanings to life than simply God, king, or country. It has come to me, the wisdom, that the Hero lives life as if given the choice, he would live the exact same life over again, and again and again; the hero rides the ups and downs of life as if an enthusiant watching the favorite scenes of a movie. I think human nature is the biggest obstacle to overcome in order to achieve a heroic state of mind; it is in our nature to embrace pain, to feel pain with an intensity unparallelled to that of joy. To "feel down" is almost as if a default. But when life gets me down, I take comfort in that I shall not allow others to tell me what to do, or what to believe, or when to shit, piss, eat, and sleep. When I die, I will know everything I have done, down to the most shameful and discouraging detail, have been my responsibility, and everything of it has been for the greater good of what I have felt to be worthwhile.
